FALLBROOK – Three students of former shop teacher John McGowan, a longtime time resident of Fallbrook, held their sixth annual luncheon Jan. 23 at El Jardin restaurant in Fallbrook. McGowan was the men’s shop teacher at Newport Harbor High School before they graduated in 1952. The students, Sam Corderio of Oceanside, Robert Moody of La Quinta, and Herb Zimmer of Tacoma, Wash., credit McGowan with instilling values that helped them in their careers and lives. Rex Bell of Costa Mesa, also a former student, was unable to attend this year’s luncheon.
