Sheriff's Dept. searching for stolen appliances that may have been purchased

LAKE ELSINORE - SHERIFF PRESS RELEASE-During the month of January, 2014, several unoccupied, newly-built residences were burglarized and the unused appliances were stolen. The Lake Elsinore Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate the stolen appliances, and the people that stole and/or sold them.

If you recently purchased an appliance and were suspicious of the seller, or the appliance’s origin, please contact Investigator Huskey at (951) 245-3381, or by email at [email protected]. The following appliances were stolen in the Lake Elsinore January burglaries; these appliances were matching sets and may have been sold together:

Stainless Steel General Electric Gas Range – Model Number JGB5235E12SS

Stainless Steel General Electric Microwave – Model Number JVM19505R1SS

Stainless Steel General Electric Dishwasher – Model Number GSD3360D35SS

Stainless Steel Whirlpool Stove/Oven – Unknown Model/Serial Number

Stainless Steel Whirlpool Microwave – Unknown Model/Serial Number

Stainless Steel Whirlpool Dishwasher – Unknown Model/Serial Number

Black Whirlpool Stove/Oven – Unknown Model/Serial Number

Black Whirlpool Dishwasher – Unknown Model/Serial Number

The Lake Elsinore Police Department would like to remind everyone to secure all their doors and windows, including their garage door, before leaving home or going to bed for the evening. Simply securing all your doors and windows can significantly reduce the risk of a theft. It is equally important to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you anytime your vehicle is left unattended, even when parked in front of your home or on your driveway. If you cannot take your valuables with you, place them in the trunk or out of sight.

Additionally, it is crucial to record and keep the serial numbers assigned to your valuables. If no serial number exists or it can easily be removed, etching or grinding your driver’s license number into your valuables will help law enforcement identify and return them if stolen. Identifying the stolen property’s owner is very important to law enforcement so we can effectively identify victims, return stolen property and prosecute suspects.
