FALLBROOK - Personnel from Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Fallbrook (also known as the Fallbrook Naval Weapons Station) will be taking part in the largest Navy security exercise of the year from Monday, February 24 through Friday, Feb. 28.
Exercise Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield 2014 will be conducted on naval bases and installations throughout the continental United States.
Measures will be taken to avoid disruptions to normal station operations, but there may be times when the exercise causes increased traffic around bases or delays in base access. The installation’s Ammunition Road gate may be impacted, and area residents may also see increased security activity associated with the exercise.
The event is not in response to any specific threat but is a regularly-scheduled exercise, developed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy security personnel to respond to threats to installations and units.
