Students need help raising funds to mail packages to troops

FALLBROOK – As part of a campus-wide effort to promote leadership through service, fifth grade students at Fallbrook Street School busily sold Valentine Grams to fellow students and parents in February. Their goal was to raise enough money to mail care packages to U.S. troops stationed in Afghanistan.

“Over $135 was raised from the Valentine Gram sales,” said fifth grade teacher Marlene Cecil, who oversaw the project. “We are now collecting supplies and goodies from our families through March 14 to send to active duty personnel stationed in Afghanistan.”
