LAKE ELSINORE - Two motorists were arrested for suspicion of drunken driving during an overnight driver's license/sobriety checkpoint in Lake Elsinore, a sheriff's sergeant said today.
A Lake Elsinore man and a Canadian tourist were arrested at the checkpoint, in front of Lakeside High School on Riverside Drive. It began at 7 p.m. Friday and ended today at 2 a.m., said Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Peter Giannakakos.
Giannakakos said 13 vehicles were either stored overnight or impounded for 30 days. Sixteen unlicensed or suspended drivers were ordered to appear in court....
