RIVERSIDE - A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will pose an extreme fire danger in Riverside County today.
The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., saying there will be sustained north to northeast winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts of 45 to 55 mph. At the same time, the humidity will drop to around 10 percent today, according to the agency.
Today's temperatures were expected to peak in the high 70s in the Riverside metropolitan area, high 60s in the mountains and low 80s in the Coachella Valley.
