For several years now, my sister, a nurse, and I, a retired teacher, have been giving science lessons to kids on the circulatory system. At the end of each lesson, we dissect a cow’s heart, and a pig’s heart, so the children can have a hands-on experience, a better understanding of anatomy, and the importance of diet and exercise in keeping a “heart healthy” lifestyle.
In the last couple of years, Mr. Estrella, the meat department manager at Major Market, has ordered and donated these hearts, which are sometimes difficult to find.
We wish to publicly thank him and Major Market for always supporting our educational programs and endeavors. With sincere thanks.
