Construction on an 11-home, energy-efficient development to be built by Habitat for Humanity and Sempra Energy over the next year and a half got underway today in Escondido.
The planned 1,300-square-foot homes on Elm Street will feature three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Construction of the houses is expected to be complete by September 2015, according to Habitat for Humanity, which said one of the homes will be occupied by a wounded veteran and his or her family, as part of its "Building for the Brave'' program.
