Body found in Hellhole Canyon County Preserve identified by Medical Examiner

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego County Medical Examiner has identified the body found on a mountain trail in the Hellhole Canyon County Preserve on April 20 as that of Samuel Holiman.

A 57 year old black male who resided in San Diego County, Holiman was found by a hiker. 9-1-1 was called and a deputy responded to the area along with park rangers. Upon arrival at the preserve, they confirmed him dead. There was no apparent injury or trauma to the body.

Time of death was listed April 19, 2014, 4 p.m. with unknown date/time of injury. Cause of death is pending with the San Diego Sheriff's Departm...
