Supervisors adopt new fire mitigation fee rates

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to increase the fire mitigation fee rates paid by developers to fund the cost of fire department facilities serving the new development.

The supervisors approved the new fee schedule on a 4-0 vote April 29 with Ron Roberts absent due to an economic development mission in China. The fee for non-agricultural construction was increased from 47 cents to 52 cents per square foot while the fee for agricultural buildings without sprinklers was raised from 12 cents to 14 cents per square foot.
