SDG&E urges customers to conserve energy to keep transmission grid stable

SAN DIEGO, May 16, 2014 – Due to multiple days of record high temperatures causing increased electric demand and ongoing fires threatening transmission infrastructure, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) again urges customers to conserve energy today, health permitting.

As SDG&E crews continue damage assessment, repairs and restoration efforts in fire-affected communities, safety is SDG&E’s top priority, and conservation is important to ensure reliability of the electric system throughout the region.
