66 Warrants for Drunken Drivers During Sweep in Moreno Valley

RIVERSIDE COUNTY SHERIFF PRESS RELEASE - The Moreno Valley Police Department, in its continued dedication to public safety, conducted a DUI warrant sweep. This focused enforcement is part of an ongoing public safety awareness effort conducted by the police department. Many people who get caught drinking and driving are under the impression that if they simply avoid the court system, the whole thing might fade away. Not true in Moreno Valley.

The Moreno Valley Police Department has a “Zero Tolerance” approach toward DUI drivers. During the warrant sweep, warrant service was attempted at 183 locations and 66 warrants were served.

The City of Moreno Valley is dedicated to making the roadways safe for all motorists. The Moreno Valley Police Department will continue this increased enforcement throughout the year.

Funding for this program was provided to the Moreno Valley Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

MORENO VALLEY - Sheriff's deputies served 66 warrants for drunken drivers during a sweep conducted today in Moreno Valley.

Deputies fanned out to 183 locations during the operation that began at 6 a.m. and ended at 2 p.m., Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Bill Guimont said.

The sheriff's department expect to continue their enforcement throughout the year, Guimont said.
