Joseph Lee Mosbacher (Mossy) was born October 17, 1917 in Buffalo, N.Y. He worked on the racetrack as a jockey and a trainer, and until age 92 he worked as the clocker at the San Luis Rey Downs Training Center. He was a WWII veteran. He loved golf and was an accomplished poet.
He was married to his wife Ida for 54 years before she passed on June 10, 2000. Joseph passed peacefully at home on May 23.
He is survived by his son Lee Mosbacher.
A memorial is planned for June 10, 3 p.m. at the San Luis Rey Downs Golf Course....
