Real estate remains strong; inventory surges in May

FALLBROOK – The May housing inventory in two prime North San Diego County real estate markets continued to expand while prices remained firm, Jerry Kalman, a realtor® with HomeSmart Real Estate, reported after the end of the month.

Comparing May real estate activity in Bonsall and Fallbrook with prior periods, the average selling price of $534,000 was one percent higher than April and 14 percent better than May 2013. Volume was off 25 percent from May of the prior year but 10 percent better than April. In May, 18 percent of the homes sold at or above the original asking price.
