91 Freeway shuts down Saturday night

The 91-Freeway between Central and University Avenues will be temporarily shut down in both directions tonight. Road crews will be removing the Ivy Street Bridge. Travelers are advised to make alternate plans.

The westbound section of the freeway will close at 11 p.m. and eastbound stretch of the 91-Freeway will close at midnight. Caltrans officials said both directions would reopen by 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The following detours are recommended by Caltrans: motorists traveling west on the freeway should get off the 14th Street off-ramp, turn right and then left on Market Street/Magnolia Avenue. Mo...
