Suspected DUI driver who crashed with children in car released

MENIFEE - A convicted drunken driver, whose two young children were in his Ford Explorer when he crashed the SUV in Menifee while allegedly under the influence, was released from custody today.

David Carlo Engleton, 46, of Menifee was arrested Thursday afternoon following the rollover wreck near the intersection of Briggs Road and Gardner Lane.

According to Riverside County sheriff's officials, Engleton lost control of the Explorer while trying to negotiate a turn, causing the SUV to overturn.
