BREAKING NEWS: Fallbrook high school district announces new superintendent selected - Hugo A. Pedroza, Ph.d.

FALLBROOK - The Fallbrook Union High School District has just announced (Thurs., Sept. 4) that a contract for superintendent of the district has been offered to Hugo A. Pedroza Ph.D.

Dr. Pedroza is currently assistant superintendent of Human Resources at Lompoc Unified School District in Lompoc, California. He has worked in the Lompoc School District as assistant superintendent since 2011. Prior to that, Dr. Pedroza served as principal of Santa Monica High School and as a high school principal in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

There were 28 applicants for the position. The board interviewed three finalists for the position during the week of August 18.

The Board is expected to approve the contract with Dr. Pedroza at its September 8 regular meeting. Dr. Pedroza will assume the duties of superintendent beginning September 15.
