Amber Alert issued for 5-year-old boy abducted from National City in San Diego County

The CHP issued an Amber Alert today (Sun., Sept. 7) for a 5-year-old boy who was abducted in National City.

National City police say the boy, Johnnie Melendez, was abducted by 27-year-old Gladys Suarez at 7 p.m. Saturday. No vehicle information was immediately available.

Johnnie is a Hispanic male, standing 4 feet 0 inches tall, weighing 80 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a Batman t-shirt, striped boxer shorts and slippers with "SD" printed on them.
