Crime numbers soar 27 percent locally

A crime report containing data for the first half of 2014, released by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) on Sept. 9, showed a significant increase in offensives compared to last year’s statistics in the Fallbrook area. An overall 27 percent increase in crime was determined.

“We expected to see increases in a couple of the categories, due to some specific things that occurred earlier in the year,” said Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Yates. “We always examine the statistics and look for trends so that we can address them.”
