Penalties nullify potential Warrior upset of San Marcos gridders

Prior to Fallbrook High School’s 13-8 loss Sept. 19 at San Marcos in a pre-league football game, the Warriors’ previous loss was also to San Marcos when the two teams opened the 2013 Division III playoffs with a 42-14 Knights victory.

“It was a great improvement,” said Fallbrook head coach Kyle Williams.

While the five-point loss was an improvement from last year, it was still a loss for the Warriors. “We feel like we have a good football team, so we don’t really believe in moral victories,” Williams said. “We need to find ways that we’re giving our best performance on every play.”
