Police: Man posing as cop sexually assaults woman - Incident highlights need to exercise caution and recommends actions for motorists to protect themselves from impostors

CORONA - Corona police asked today for the public's help in identifying a man who impersonated a cop to commit a sexual assault.

"It's a tragic event,'' Corona police Sgt. Kim Velasco told City News Service. "We're trying to get more details. Anybody who might have information should contact us.''

According to Velasco, investigators have run into challenges because the victim, whose identity was not released, did not come forward until nearly a month after the Sept. 7 assault.
