Police officers, firefighters, and others participate in the annual Battle of the Badges charity boxing event to raise money to support at-risk youth.
PALA – On Saturday, Oct. 18, the Battle of the Badges to benefit Cops 4 Kids & Communities will take place at the Pala events center at Pala Casino Spa & Resort.
In the event, police officers and firefighters from a number of communities as well as California state correctional officers, members of public safety organizations, and the
United States Armed Forces will square off in the boxing ring to support at-risk and underprivileged youth in Southern California.
Cops 4 Kids & Communities utilizes tried and tested programs and techniques that have proved successful at reclaiming the most challenging children. Its programs are conducted in a structured environment in which children are valued and adolescents are considered resources rather than problems.
The event will begin at 6 p.m .; doors open at 5:15.
