FAA's Open Judged Show runs Oct. 31 to Nov. 16

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Art Association’s (FAA) Open Judged Show will be held at the Fallbrook Art Center, 103 S. Main Ave., Oct. 31 through Nov. 16. FAA membership is not required to participate.

A maximum of two pieces, in any of seven different categories, can be entered. All works will be accepted Monday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., providing they meet FAA submission standards and guidelines. Cash prizes will be awarded in each category and presented at the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony Saturday, Nov. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Detailed information can be found on the Call for Entries page of FAA’s October newsletter at http://www.fallbrookartassn.org.

The judge for this show is Richard Hawk, an internationally collected artist who lives in San Diego. A figurative painter on canvas and paper, he also works in special oxidation techniques on copper.

“In observing, exploring, and trying to understand life and art, I have come to realize that I am attracted to the uncontrollable,” said Hawk. “More specifically, I am drawn to that difficult sector where the controlled and the uncontrollable meet. Exciting things happen there.”
