The North County Fire Protection District transferred three manually-operated gurneys to the Palomar College emergency medical education department.
The NCFPD board voted 3-0 May 27 to declare the equipment surplus and transfer the gurneys to Palomar College in exchange for training district staff. Wayne Hooper is an employee of the college and abstained due to the conflict of interest, and Paul Schaden was absent.
“The decision was made to transfer ownership of those gurneys to Palomar College,” said NCFPD fire chief Bill Metcalf.
