Corona pastor who abused child sentenced

RIVERSIDE - A Corona pastor whose disciplinary measures included using pliers to twist a nipple of a 13-year-old boy was sentenced today to two years in state prison.

Lonny Lee Remmers, 56, pleaded guilty in July to assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting corporal injury on a child.

Under a plea deal with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, in exchange for his admitting the two felony counts, prosecutors dropped four other charges against Remmers, including kidnapping.
