OCEANSIDE - An investigation was under way today in Oceanside, where a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were both stabbed but neither would talk about it, police said.
Officers were called to the boy's home in the 4400 block of Estada Drive at 10:26 p.m. Tuesday, according to Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby.
Once there, officers learned that the boy had arrived home with a stab wound to his abdomen and as his father was trying to help him, the girl showed up with a small wound to her head, Cosby said in a statement.
When the boy's mother went to call police, both teens ran from the home.
A short time later, officers caught up with the girl on state Route 76 near where Pala Road ends, Cosby said, adding the boy was found at Pala Road and Calle Bolero.
''Neither victim was cooperative,'' Cosby said. ''Both refused to tell officers what happened.''
Paramedics flew the boy to Scripps La Jolla Hospital and took the girl by ambulance to Tri-City Medical Center. Both were expected to survive, Cosby said.
