North County Fire begins solar installations

FALLBROOK – Four North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) fire stations and the fleet maintenance facility in Fallbrook will receive solar energy installations which is expected to save the agency over $1.2 million on electricity over the next 20 years.

“[Going solar] will allow the district to reallocate several thousand taxpayer dollars monthly to project financing and other essential services and will insulate the district from future utility rate increases while promoting an environmentally responsible image in our community,” said Greg Wilson, battalion chief for the NCFPD.
