Partial Closure of State Route 79 Planned This Week

WINCHESTER - Alternating lane closures are planned this week on state Route 79 in Winchester to accommodate crews making repairs along the north-south route.

One lane on the southbound side of state Route 79 between Abelia Street and Scott Road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Riverside County Department of Transportation.

The outside lanes of both the northbound and southbound sides of the four-lane highway will be closed along the same 1.5-mile stretch between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, county officials said. Detours will be in effect.

Crews will be patching broken pavement along the route, according to the county.
