AGUANGA - A pregnant woman gave birth to a stillborn girl following a crash involving a minivan that slammed into large rocks in Aguanga this week, an officer said today.
The 34-year-old woman, whose name was withheld, was more than five months pregnant when she traveled in Jorge Camancho's 1998 Mercury Villager that crashed Monday on Wilson Valley Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig said.
The coroner's office called CHP authorities Wednesday to inform them about the stillborn, Lassig said.
Camancho, 34, was heading east on Wilson Valley Road, west of Thomas Road, at 6:20 a.m. Monday when his minivan drifted off the roadway and smashed into some large rocks, Lassig said.
Camancho suffered undisclosed major injuries. His passenger was flown to Temecula Valley Hospital for treatment of major injuries, Lassig said.
