BREAKING: North County fire destroys home, one treated on scene

A fire that broke out late Monday, Nov. 23 has reportedly destroyed one home and has burnt about a half acre of brush.

According to reports on scene, the fire broke out shortly after 8:15 p.m., in the 39000 block of De Luz Road, which is just north of Fallbrook.

Initial reports indicated that people were trapped, but a search proved that to be false, according to a report.

"The area proved to be very difficult to access and had to rely on mutual aide from agencies as far away as San Marcos," the report read. "The structure was a total loss.

"The fire burned into about 1/2 acre of brush."

No one was hospitalized, but one person was treated on scene.

"One woman was treated on scene for smoke inhalation but was not transported to the hospital."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
