Longtime Fallbrook resident, Helen (Coplin) Tachell, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep Oct. 20, 2014 while living with family in Northern California. Many in Fallbrook may remember her working at Ivy House Restaurant, Village Inn Coffee Shop, and for many years, working in both Hallmark Shops in Fallbrook.
Born May 21, 1921 in Edenton, N. C., she was raised outside Philadelphia, Penn., married and moved to Los Angeles, Calif. and started a family. She lived most of her last 50 years in her beloved Fallbrook. Always an observer, her words few, her wit quick, she was a bright spot in every gathering.
She is survived by two daughters; four granddaughters; two great-grandchildren and a brother. Helen was the matriarch of this family of women for many years. She will be missed. Private family memorial took place Nov. 4, 2014 in Fallbrook.
