Judy Mitchell of Mission Resource Conservation District celebrates with the Boys & Girls Club members who created a scarecrow that won Best of Show (Youth) in the recent Scarecrow Days competition. FALLBROOK – Judy Mitchell, administrator of Mission Resource Conservation District, a state agency in Fallbrook feels that giving back to the community is the purpose of MRCD.
Providing agricultural services as well as individual home owners support and help is everyday business for the staff.
Their interest in building community inspired them to offer a prize for Fallbrook Scarecrow Days Youth Best of Show award, which was won by a group of 18 members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County. The scarecrow they created depicted “Pops” of a popular television show.
Mitchell said, “Honoring those young people for their community participation helps grow community pride.”
