Motorcyclist killed by alleged drunken driver identified as Anza man

ANZA - A motorcyclist killed when a pickup truck with a suspected drunken driver behind the wheel crashed into him head-on was identified today as a 61-year-old Anza man.

Richard Michael Ray was fatally injured Saturday afternoon while riding along state Route 371, near the Cahuilla Casino, between the unincorporated communities of Aguanga and Anza, about 15 miles east of Temecula.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 68-year-old Kenneth Alan Hoddick was at the wheel of a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado, going southbound, while Ray was coming from the opposite direction on his motorcycle.
