Sheriff's Dept. increases DUI patrols now through January 1

SAN DIEGO COUNTY - The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has announced that it is joining law enforcement

agencies across the nation for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign to stop impaired driving this holiday season.

The effort began December 12 and will continue through January 1. Deputies will be conducting additional DUI patrols to find impaired drivers before they hurt or kill someone.

Deputies will also conduct a warrant service operation targeting DUI offenders who failed to appear in court.

DUI checkpoints are scheduled as well for various locations.
