Temecula and Fallbrook businessman accused of ripping off banks to be arraigned

RIVERSIDE - A businessman accused of conspiring with a Temecula doctor to perpetrate a money laundering scheme that netted around $3.3 million in stolen funds is slated to be arraigned today.

Sammy Ciling, 49, of Temecula could face more than 60 years in prison if convicted of fraudulently obtaining loans for medical equipment that, prosecutors allege, was never acquired.

Ciling's codefendant, 49-year-old Dr. Donald Woo Lee of Newport Beach, was arrested Wednesday and is expected to make his initial court appearance Friday.

Each man is charged with 55 counts of money laundering and grand theft...
