CHP reports DUI arrests, fatalities during New Year's holiday period

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has issued its report on the number of DUI (Driving Under the Influence of drugs/alcohol) arrests made over the New Year's holiday weekend.

From 6 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 31, 2014 to Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at 6 a.m., CHP officers arrested 69 individuals in San Diego County for DUI. One person was killed during that period in a traffic collision.

Last year, the CHP made 20 DUI arrests during the New Year's holiday period. No fatalities were experienced in that reporting period.
