FALLBROOK – The public is invited to a slide show presentation by Rod Dyckman, renowned Air Force pilot, about his experiences in flying the famed SR 71 Blackbird Spy Plane. Sponsored by the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club, the event will take place in the community room of the Fallbrook Public Library on Wed., Jan. 28, at 7 p.m.
Dyckman will speak about his piloting career in the Air Force, including the famous SR 71. The Blackbird was designed as a high-speed (2300mph) and high-altitude photo reconnaissance spy plane. It still holds the title of the world’s fastest airship. Dyckman will relate his first hand experiences and intimate knowledge of the unique features of the plane as well as talk about his many missions flying all over the world during the cold war.
At the conclusion of his presentation, he will open a dialogue with those attending and answer any questions they might have.
