SAN DIEGO COUNTY – Well, it happens. People get the flu. The fever, cough and muscle or body aches make them miserable but they think they should still go to school or work.
They shouldn’t. They could be contagious and get others sick. Instead, here is what health officials recommend they do:
1 - Stay at home and rest
Most people who get the flu have mild illness and do not need medical care or antiviral drugs. They should stay home for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone without using fever-reducing medication.
