Vintage Car Club shifts into gear with annual Breakfast

FALLBROOK –

The morning provided an opportunity for many members to drive their vintage vehicles and put on a mini-car show in the church parking lot prior to the breakfast.

After breakfast, car club president Roy Moosa discussed scheduled events to be held throughout the year including the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club. The club will also hold its 50th annual Vintage Car Show on May 24 at the Pala Mesa Resort on Old Highway 395.

The club has the longest continuous running vintage car show on the West Coast, which is its major fundraising activity. Included in this year’s event will be a beer and wine garden and even a free Sgt. Peppers Beatles Tribute Band concert from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Attendance and parking is free to the public.

The FVCC’s first donation of the year was to the Fallbrook Citizens’ Crime Prevention Committee, (FCCPC). This donation will help to reduce crime within Fallbrook and its neighboring communities through the FCCPC’s established prevention programs such as GANAS (mentoring program), Adopt-a-Block and Front Porch Project. The committee is also working with public schools, primarily ages 15 through 18, to reduce gang involvement, which includes the use of drugs, alcohol and community crime. They are committed to reaching these youths and guiding them to a more positive and productive path in life.
