CIF approves football practice limits

The CIF San Diego Section amended its rules on athletic practice regulations to limit full-contact football practice to two days a week and 90 minutes on any day.

The new bylaw passed by a unanimous CIF Board of Managers vote Jan. 21 adds the limits during the season of the sport, which begins with the first day of practice allowed by the CIF section and ends with the team’s final game. During the off-season, including team camps, all full-contact practice is prohibited.
