RIVERSIDE - Low pressure aloft brought colder conditions and snow showers to the mountains of Riverside County early today, meteorologists said.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the mountains until 4 p.m., saying several inches of snow may accumulate around 6,000 feet this morning. Up to a foot of snow was expected above 7,000 feet, the agency said.
Along with the snowfall, sustained southwest winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts up to 45 mph were possible in the mountains early today, according to the weather service.
