Hit and run driver that caused accident on SR76 arrested for suspicion of DUI in Wildomar

A driver who is said to have committed a hit and run accident in Fallbrook has been arrested in Wildomar.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. today, Friday, March 6, when the driver struck another motorist on State Route 76 at Gird Road in Fallbrook and left the scene. The other motorist was injured and taken to Palomar Medical Center.

The California Highway Patrol has said the driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and hit and run but they have not disclosed the driver's name nor the medical condition/injuries of the other motorist or that person's identity.

Officers searched the surrounding area with canines and a helicopter and tracked the suspect to an address on Octopus Lane in Wildomar.
