FALLBROOK – Three local students had their art work chosen to show at the annual Youth Art Month (YAM) Exhibit.
which ran from Feb. 12 through March 22 in the Rose Gallery at the Francis Parker School in San Diego. Colette Lee won honorable mention for her watercolor poppies while Katelyn Mathewson and Nash Youngren received certificates of excellence on their respective compositions.
This exhibit is sponsored by the California Art Education Association (CAEA) and the San Diego County Office of Education. San Diego County art teachers entered over 200 pieces of art. Of these, only 44 entries in the kindergarten through eighth grade categories were juried into the show.
The students' teacher, Marilee Ragland, is a CAEA member and instructs art in the youth program at the Fallbrook School of the Arts.
