Workshop on water-treatment facility, April 6

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Public Utility District (FPUD) wants its customers to know that in the next couple of years, it will begin building a water-treatment facility at its plant at 1425 Alturas Road. It will also be doing work on additional piping, along Almond Street and Palomino Road. Both projects are directly related to the Santa Margarita River Conjunctive-Use Project.

The Santa Margarita River project is very important. Once built, it will provide a local supply of water for the FPUD which currently imports virtually all its water; this project will provide it with 30 percent of its total supply.

FPUD is initiating the design phase of the project and would like public input on the water treatment facility and to give information on both construction projects. It invites everyone to a public workshop on Monday, April 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. at its district office, 990 East Mission Road.
