Fallbrook golfers take the league lead

The two Valley League boys golf teams which were undefeated in league play met April 14 at the Pala Mesa course, where Fallbrook High School gained the league lead with a 203-204 victory over Ramona.

"That was a big win," said Fallbrook High School coach Steve Jorde.

In high school golf, six players from each team play a nine-hole round. The scores of the top five players are added to determine the team score and the high score is discarded.

Fallbrook senior Ian Mackenzie completed his nine holes in 38 strokes to lead the Fallbrook golfers.
