SAN DIEGO - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased today for the sixth time in seven days, dropping 1.2 cents to $3.921.
The average price is 6.2 cents lower than one week ago and 20.4 cents less than one year ago but 69.6 cents higher than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The dropping prices follow a stretch of 28 increases in 30 days that pushed the average price to its highest amount since July 26.
The prices are dropping because "supply issues seem to have been resolved,'' said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
