USD professor says Real Estate Index of Leading Economic Indicators rose 0.9 percent in April, 11th straight monthly increase

SAN DIEGO - The University of San Diego Burnham-Moores Institute for Real Estate's Index of Leading Economic Indicators rose 0.9 percent in April, the 11th straight monthly increase, it was announced today, May 28.

USD professor Alan Gin said all six sectors in the index improved, with a big jump in the number of residential building permits issued by local governments. He said the jobs picture and outlook for the national economy were also better.

"The outlook continues to be for strong growth in the local economy for the rest of 2015 and at least through the early part of 2016,'' Gin said.
