Building completed for new rental center at SD airport

SAN DIEGO – San Diego International Airport officials today, June 17 celebrated completion of the 2 million-square-foot building that will house the Rental Car Center. The $316 million rental car center under construction at Lindbergh Field is scheduled for completion in January, according to airport officials.

On Tuesday, June 16, a prefabricated concrete panel was hoisted into place on the facade of the 2 million-square-foot structure. Most of the rental car companies at Lindbergh Field will be located at the center, off Pacific Highway on the north side of the airport.
