SAN DIEGO COUNTY - Higher than average surf and strong rip currents could wreak havoc along the San Diego County coastline today, Wed., July 29.
A National Weather Service beach hazards statement warning of potentially dangerous rip currents and surf is set to remain in effect through this evening.
"Strong rip currents and elevated surf will result in very dangerous swimming conditions,'' a weather service statement said. "Swimmers in shallow water may unexpectedly get pulled out by the rip currents or the larger breaking waves.''
