Noise levels may increase in the vicinity of Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON – Artillery units are conducting live-fire training exercises that will involve firing on the Whisky and Zulu impact areas, on the northern part of the base from 6 a.m. to midnight Saturday, Aug. 7 to Friday, Aug. 14. There will also be extended firing from midnight to 3 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, Sunday, Aug. 10, and Friday, Aug. 15. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
